Although the government has come up with a number of measures to prevent large corporations from abusing their power, one in five small and medium-sized companies is still suffering from abuse of power.

In particular, small and medium-sized enterprises were most troubled by the chronic problem of hitting supply prices by large companies.

Reporter Choi Ah-young reports.

Mr. A, who has directly signed a contract with a rental car company affiliated with a large company and has been repairing damaged car glass for about 10 years.

However, at the end of last year, the rental car company suddenly put forward an intermediary for cost reduction.

The glass unit price that Mr. A receives was cut by 40% when he won a job through an intermediary.

[Mr. A / Small business owner who sells car glass: If you put 300,000 won into the contract, it's 300,000 won, but now you only give 170,000 won or 180,000 won. Because I was unilaterally beaten. So it was very hard.]

When I asked 500 small and medium-sized manufacturing companies that do business with large companies, one out of five companies experienced such unfair practices.

The most common power trip experienced by small and medium-sized companies was 'hitting delivery prices' by large companies.

In addition, unfair contract cancellation, unfair return, and non-payment of payments also plagued SMEs.

However, more than half of SMEs have not responded to the tyranny of large corporations.

In addition, unfair trade was the same when we were getting materials from large companies.

Of the 270 companies that purchased raw and subsidiary materials from large companies, 19% experienced unfair practices and the most unfair supply unit price decisions.

Then, I asked what measures are needed to prevent such power abuse.

66% of SMEs wanted to create an environment to receive a price for delivery, such as strengthening SMEs' bargaining power.

He also said that government support for small and medium-sized enterprises and measures to eradicate unfair trade practices are needed.

[Kim Won-i / Minjoo Party member: In order to strengthen SMEs' bargaining power over large companies, we have come up with an alternative to strengthen the right to consult on contract terms and conditions....]

The tears of small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners are not drying up due to the power abuse of large corporations that are not rooted out even by the government's measures.
