Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has said Hamas will continue to exist in the death of the country's head, Yahya Sinwar.
According to AFP, Khamenei said in a statement on the 19th local time that Shinwar was killed in Gaza, but Hamas was alive and well.
"Sinwar's death is certainly painful for the resistance front," Khamenei said, stressing that "but Sinwar's martyrdom will not end everything."
Reuters also said Sinwar's death will not stop the axis of resistance, and Hamas will continue to exist.
Iran leads the axis of resistance, an anti-American and anti-Israel alliance that includes Hamas and Hezbollah.
Sinwar was killed by Israeli forces in a building in the southern Gaza city of Rafa on the 16th.
