China has dominated the international standardization of gaming and e-sports.

In the future, China will take the lead in how to play e-sports and equipment,
It turned out that Korea, which used to be called the suzerain state of
esports, failed to grasp China's move in advance and did not take any countermeasures.

This is China's 'standardization of game and e-sports terms' proposal submitted to the International Standards Organization.

It has detailed definitions of e-sports, how to play, organizers, and equipment terms.

The proposal was officially approved after a vote by the International Standards Agency in May this year.

[Kang Yoo-jung / Minjoo Party member: It means that we're going to establish terms based on China, but it's not a matter of being a pushover because it can affect rules, sports and how the game is operated in more serious cases]

In fact, China decided on the equipment for the tournament at last year's Hangzhou Asian Games, but it was very difficult because it was different from the equipment that our players had been using.

If you take control of the standard, you can also modify or change the game itself to suit Chinese tastes.

However, it turned out that Korea, which was called the suzerain state of e-sports, did not grasp China's move to dominate standardization at all.

[Kang Yoo-jung / Democratic Party member: To be able to set the rules means to know the rules first and that it could be an unfair starting point, so it is expected to cause potential damage, especially for Korea, a powerhouse in this sport.]

The ministry in charge said it would come up with countermeasures, but there is no sharp way.

An official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said they will continue to disagree because the draft itself is not confirmed and is at a stage where it can be coordinated.

China's Gaming Industry Showing Incredible Growth Despite Overall Economic Recession

On top of this, it has even preoccupied e-sports standardization, beating Korea, which used to be a suzerain state.

As bad news overlaps with our game industry and e-sports, it is urgent to thoroughly analyze and prepare countermeasures.
