The People's Power foreshadowed legal action by the Democratic Party of Korea's subcommittee on the National Assembly's steering committee yesterday to deal with the revision of the rules that exclude the ruling party's share in the process of recommending the permanent special prosecution.
Floor leader Choo Kyung-ho met with reporters after the parliamentary audit meeting and said, "We will take legal measures to ensure that the constitutional authority is not violated according to the procedure."
In the opening remarks of the meeting, the opposition party alone criticized the bill and rules, saying that the Democratic Party of Korea would wield super-legal power with its majority power.
Deputy floor leader Bae Joon-young also claimed that the Democratic Party is trying to create a "fake Democratic government" within the National Assembly, saying it is a change that greatly strengthens the power of the National Assembly and suppresses the president and the administration.
Rep. Yoo Sang-beom also pointed out that the Democratic Party of Korea is showing that Lee Jae-myung is above the Constitution, and that constitutional principles, parliamentary consensus, and the rule of law are not considered to save Lee.
