Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he spoke to Yoon Suk Yeol's president today.

"I spoke to the president of Yoon Suk Yeol," Zelensky wrote on social media X. "Above all, I thanked South Korea for its continued support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity."

In addition, "We discussed the North Korean military's involvement in Russia's invasion of Ukraine," he said. "The conclusion is clear. This war is becoming more international and expanding beyond the two countries," he said.

President Zelenskyy said, "We shared the latest information that 3,000 North Korean soldiers have been deployed to Russian training sites near the combat zone," adding that the number of North Korean troops is expected to increase to about 12,000.

"We agreed to strengthen the exchange of information expertise, strengthen communication at all levels, especially at the highest levels, develop action strategies and countermeasures to cope with this escalation of tension, and engage our mutual partners in cooperation," he said.

"As part of this agreement, Ukraine and South Korea will soon exchange delegations to coordinate measures," he added.

"Lastly, we have asked South Korea to participate in the G7 Vilnius Declaration on bilateral security guarantees to support Ukraine," Zelensky said.

Earlier in July last year, the leaders of the G7 issued a joint declaration in Vilnius, Lithuania, on the occasion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and NATO summit, calling for long-term military and economic support for Ukraine.
