Amid speculation that North Korea could conduct its seventh nuclear test before and after the U.S. presidential election on the 5th of next month, military intelligence officials reported to the National Assembly that internal preparations for the Punggye-ri nuclear test site appear to have already been completed.

The secretaries of the ruling and opposition parties of the National Assembly Intelligence Committee said in a briefing after the parliamentary audit of the Defense Intelligence Headquarters that there were reports that a nuclear test could be conducted using the Punggye-ri No. 3 shaft if North Korean leader Kim Jong-un decides.

He also explained that North Korea is likely to launch intercontinental ballistic missiles and ICBMs in November to verify atmospheric reentry technology, and that missiles have already been deployed in certain areas.

Regarding North Korean troops sent to Russia, the Defense Intelligence Headquarters reported that some advance teams may have been deployed to the front line, but there is no information to support foreign reports that they have already been deployed to the battlefield and that there are casualties.

At the same time, it was confirmed that the South Korean military's loudspeaker broadcasting to North Korea affected the North Korean military, and said a North Korean GP worker was seen dancing during the North Korean broadcasting time.
