President Biden's slip of the tongue has emerged as a last-minute issue in the U.S. presidential election, which continues to be very close.

Not only Harris' camp but also the White House started to evolve, saying that it meant hate speech, not supporters.

Reporter Lee Kyung-ah reports.

Vice President Kamala Harris is heading to North Carolina, the main battleground for the presidential election.

Before we get on the plane, there are a lot of questions from reporters.

I'm asking for your position on President Joe Biden's remarks that he called supporters of former President Donald Trump "trash."

[CAMALA HARRIS / VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES] I am strongly opposed to criticizing people based on who they voted for. Whether you support me or not, I will be the president for all Americans. That's my responsibility.]

Harris also reiterated in the campaign that "Trump thinks of someone who has a different will than him as an enemy, but he will be the president for all Americans."

Harris' camp is struggling to evolve as President Biden's protruding remarks, which came amid the hyper-contact, have made waves.

The controversy began when a speaker called Puerto Rico a "garbage island" during former President Trump's New York campaign on the 27th.

President Biden used the term "trash" toward Trump supporters, along with his position that hate speech against a particular country or race is unacceptable.

The White House explained that the president at the time condemned hate speech.

[Karyn Jean-Pierre / White House Press Secretary] President Biden is everyone's president. But what the president heard was a hateful investigation. We have pointed out many times about hate speech and will continue to do so. The President was talking about that.]

Regardless of the explanation, former President Trump went on the offensive as if he had been waiting.

Biden and Harris strongly criticized him, saying they eventually revealed their inner feelings.

[Donald Trump / Former President: Joe Biden finally debunked what he and Harris think of my supporters. I really said 'trash'. But there's no doubt that my supporters are much higher than crooked Biden.]

While Trump is guaranteeing victory, leading Republican figures continue to declare their support for Harris.

Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, a former governor of California, said he would vote for Harris, saying Trump only creates division, insults and anger.
