The U.S. condemned North Korea's launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) into the East Sea and urged North Korea to engage in dialogue."The United States strongly condemns North Korea's ICBM test," White House National Security Council spokesman Sean Sabet
said in a statement. "This launch is a blatant violation of a number of U.N. Security Council resolutions."

"The U.S. Indo-Pacific Command evaluated the launch as not posing an immediate threat to U.S. personnel, territory or our alliance, but it risks unnecessarily escalating tensions and destabilizing the security situation in the region," he said.

"This launch only shows that North Korea continues to prioritize illegal weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and ballistic missile programs over the well-being of its people," he said. "We urge all countries to condemn these violations and stop destabilizing North Korea and engage in serious dialogue.""The national security team is working closely with our allies and partners, and the U.S. will take all necessary steps to ensure the security of the U.S. mainland and its allies, South Korea and Japan," spokesperson
Shaun Sabet said.
