75% of patients injured in personal mobile devices 'not wearing helmets'

Three out of four injured patients who were injured while riding a personal mobile device such as an electric kickboard were not wearing helmets.

According to a survey conducted by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for a year from September 2022, a total of 1,258 patients were damaged by personal mobile device accidents such as electric kickboards and electric bicycles.

Among them, 75% were not wearing helmets, and 18.3% were unlicensed drivers without a driver's license.

By patient age, the age of 15-24 was the most common with 40.4%, followed by 25.6% in the age of 25-34, 14.5% in the age of 35-44, and 7.6% in the age of 45-54.
