Although the powerful typhoon 'Kongrey' was avoided, the rain clouds left by the typhoon will bring strong rain and wind to Jeju Island and the southern coast until tomorrow (1st).

Early next week, the morning temperature is expected to drop by nearly 0 degrees Celsius, and early winter cold is expected to come.

Reporter Jung Hye-yoon reports.

The powerful typhoon 'Kongrey', which hit Taiwan, had little impact on Korea, but the remaining rain clouds are not expected to deflect.

The temperate low pressure changed from the typhoon is expected to affect Jeju Island and the southern coast between tomorrow and the morning after tomorrow.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said that the precipitation zone will pass south of Jeju Island, and there will be rather strong rain accompanied by gusts of wind and lightning around the southern coast of the mountain.

In particular, heavy rain of more than 300mm will fall over two days with strong rain of 30 to 50mm per hour in the mountains of Jeju,

The southern coast of Jeollanam-do and the western southern coast of Gyeongnam will also receive up to 80mm of rain.

5 to 40 mm of rain is expected in the southern interior.

[Kyung Sang-min / Meteorological Agency forecaster: The convergence zone south of Jeju Island vibrates north and south, expecting heavy rain between the afternoon of the 1st and early morning of the 2nd, and due to the fallen leaves on the southern coast of Jeju Island, a drainage check is needed...]

It will be mostly sunny from daytime to holidays on weekends when the rain stops, and mild autumn weather is expected due to higher temperatures than usual.

However, the continental high pressure with cold air is expected to expand in the northwest next week, and the weather is expected to change rapidly.

Cold winds are expected to strengthen from Monday afternoon and temperatures are expected to drop close to zero on Tuesday and Wednesday in the central inland morning.

As the early winter cold comes, the Korea Meteorological Administration urged us to thoroughly prepare for major temperature changes.
