In fact, Yoo was indicted on charges of illegally operating with cooking utensils without reporting to the district office (violation of the Food Business Act) and sentenced to eight months in prison in 2015 before being reduced to probation by the appeals court.

At that time, Yoo's restaurant, which rented state-owned land and sold only 980,000 won per year, is known to have sold hundreds of millions of won per year.

Yoo has previously been fined several times for violating related laws.

At the time, the court said, "Considering that we ignored the law and order several times over a long period of time, continued illegal business or avoided the law by changing business owners, and the net profit accumulated from illegal businesses amounted to hundreds of millions of won, we should raise the alarm with strict punishment."

Yoo said, "I know that there is no justification for breaking the law for any reason," adding, "At a time when I was a general public suddenly attracted attention, my wife and I never had a comfortable day."

He apologized and decided to open the restaurant space, which he has been working hard for 20 years, for free as a bibim exhibition and bibim performance venue for everyone.
