President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating for state affairs has fallen to the 10% level for the first time since taking office, a poll shows.

The biggest factor in the negative evaluation is the controversy over Kim Gun-hee, and the presidential office in Yongsan is deeply concerned ahead of the halfway point of his term on the 10th.

Reporter Kang Min-kyung reports.

According to Gallup Korea's three-day survey of 1,005 adult men and women nationwide from the 29th of last month, the positive evaluation of President Yoon Suk Yeol's job performance was 19%.

It's down 1%p from a week ago.

It is the first time since he took office in 2022 that President Yoon's assessment of being good at work has fallen to the 10% level in a Gallup survey.

The negative evaluation of job performance increased by 2%p to 72%, and the 'Kim problem' was cited as the biggest reason for the negative evaluation.

In a two-day poll conducted by Embrain Public from the 27th of last month, the positive evaluation of state affairs was 17%.President

Yoon accelerated the so-called 'four reforms' and continued his diplomatic steps with the heads of state, but public sentiment does not seem to have responded to this.

[Yoon Suk Yeol / President (Last month, 29th): The four major reforms of healthcare, pension, labor, and education are the people's livelihood]

The Gallup survey showed support in Daegu, North Gyeongsang and the so-called TK regions in particular fell 8%p in a week to 18% below the national average.

As the traditional supporters moved to leave, the presidential office lowered itself, saying it would fill more of the shortfall.

[Jeong Jin-seok / Chief of Staff to the President's Office: We'll try harder to make a rebound. We promise to make more efforts to make up for the shortcomings.]

However, the opposition party is escalating its offensive, with the recording of the phone call between President Yoon and Myung Tae-kyun being made public.

The presidential office and the ruling party maintain that there are no political or legal problems as the president-elect at the time.

The president's office said President Yoon may also be aware of the results of the poll.

At the same time, he said he would actively try to rebound his approval rating, but it is not expected that it will be easy to come up with specific reform measures.
