On the first day of November, the rain did not stop all day on Jeju Island and the southern coast.

In particular, Jeju Island, where a heavy rain warning was issued, received an average of more than 200mm of water bombs during the day.

Yesterday alone, 238.4mm was recorded in Jeju-si, where the weather station is located, and 242.1mm was recorded in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo-si.

The mountainous areas, with topographical factors added, received nearly 350mm of heavy rain in two days around the azalea field.

Jeju City has the highest precipitation in 101 years since 1923 when weather observation began as of November.

The rain in November, which has been the heaviest so far, is much more than double that of 102mm in 2011.

In particular, Jeju and Seongsan, which recorded the highest precipitation in November, showed the frequency of precipitation once in 200 years.

The weather service said Typhoon "Kong Lei," which hit Taiwan and traveled along the Chinese coast, gradually weakened, but it was caused by a lot of water vapor flowing in from the front and forming strong rain clouds.

[Hwang Ji-young / Forecaster of the Korea Meteorological Administration: Under the influence of a slow-moving low pressure in the southern waters of Jeju Island, a large amount of water vapor continues to flow in from Typhoon Kong-rey and the duration of precipitation has been prolonged, causing a lot of rain around Jeju Island.]

Jeju and Seongsan branches recorded 200 years of precipitation on November.

Most of the heavy rain clouds escaped in the morning and heavy rain warnings were lifted, but strong winds and high waves could continue along the coast and at sea.Following the longest heat wave and tropical nights leading up to the fall of

, the unprecedented November downpour, the unusual weather caused by climate change is increasing.
