It has been confirmed that the chairman of the nation's largest credit union in Daegu is under police investigation on charges of preferential loans.

However, it was argued that the chairman of the board tried to put the responsibility on the executive director, and when he refused to do so, he was unfairly dismissed.

It is the nation's largest credit cooperative with assets of more than 2 trillion won.

Mr. A, who has been the chairman of the board of directors here for more than 10 years, is under police investigation on charges of preferential loans.

He is accused of lending billions of won far beyond the legal limit at the request of an acquaintance.

Mr. B, a former executive director of the Credit Union, says that no one could refuse the request because the person who took the loan was close to Mr. A, the chairman of the board.

[Mr. B / Former executive director of Credit Union C: If there are employees who are against their will, they can even smash the computer. Whatever threat they make, all employees are holding their breath because of their relationship with the chairman....]

In a police investigation, Mr. A denied all charges, saying that the loan was a prerequisite for the executive director.

In response, Mr. B says that Chairman A has not only passed the responsibility, but has also forced him to make false statements.

B claimed that when he refused the chairman's request, employees began to ostracize him, and recently held an emergency board meeting to dismiss him.

On the other hand, Chairman A said that it is true that he is being investigated, but B's claim is groundless.

It wasn't a preferential loan, it was a legitimate loan, and even that wasn't decided by himself.

In addition, he refuted that he had never forced to make false statements and dismissed B because the audit of the Korea Credit Union confirmed misconduct.

The police plan to conduct an additional investigation into the chairman A at the request of the prosecution to supplement the investigation, and then decide whether to resend it.
