Dmitry Medvedev, vice chairman of Russia's National Security Council, a close ally of Putin, warned that the United States would face a third world war if it added fuel to the war in Ukraine.
On the 2nd local time, Vice Chairman Medvedev told Russian media that "if the next U.S. leader continues to pour oil on it, it would be a very bad choice to go to hell."
"This will really pave the way to World War III," he said, urging former President Trump and Vice President Harris, the U.S. presidential candidates, to recognize this.
He also said U.S. officials were wrong in thinking that Russia would not cross certain lines and use nuclear weapons.
Russia has recently stepped up its threat to use nuclear weapons, as Ukraine has asked the United States and others to allow strikes on Russia's mainland using long-range missiles.
