This Year's School District Officer Candidate (ROTC) Applications Rate Rise for the First Time in 9 Years

The Ministry of National Defense said a total of 7,989 applicants applied for this year's recruitment of school district cadet candidates and ROTC, which was finally closed on the 1st, recording a 2.1 to 1 application rate.

This is up from last year's 1.6 to 1 application rate, which was supported by 5,907 people, and it was the first increase in nine years after falling for eight consecutive years from 4.8 to 1 in 2015.

The Ministry of National Defense assessed that the ROTC short-term service subsidy, which was 9 million won, was raised to 12 million won from this year, and the school district life subsidy was raised from 80,000 won last year to 160,000 won this year.

This year, 7,136 people applied for 3,129 recruitment, the highest application rate of 2.3 to 1, while 260 people applied for 239 recruitment for the Navy and Marine Corps, and 593 people applied for 348 recruitment for the Air Force, recording 1.7 to 1.

Among the applicants, 2,461 female students, or 31% of the total, increased 7 percentage points from 24% last year.
