It has been reported that two North Koreans who criticized Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, have been arrested recently, and their families are also suddenly missing.
Citing sources in South Hwanghae Province, the Daily NK reported that two residents of Haeju City were arrested by the Ministry of Security after making critical remarks after seeing comrade Kim Yo-jong's statement on the Pyongyang drone incident in the middle of last month.
They were secretly sharing stories criticizing Kim Yo-jong and the North Korean authorities, and it seems that another resident who overheard the conversation was caught when he informed the Ministry of Security.
In fact, the two were problematic for making various political statements, especially expressing concern about the recent tensions between the two Koreas, saying, "If this country collapses quickly, war must happen," and "If a war breaks out, everyone will run away to South Korea or China."
He also criticized Kim Yo-jong, who is criticizing South Korea on the front line, saying, "I hate to see a woman in a skirt running wild like that," "What does a woman know and scold her?" and "It's hard for the people to live, but shouldn't they take good care of the country's economic situation and take care of it from behind?"
The day after the two men were arrested, their families also suddenly disappeared, raising anxiety in the community, Daily NK said.
"The residents of the neighborhood were surprised by the sudden disappearance of the two families overnight and are still anxious," the source said, adding, "These incidents often occur because Haeju, which is adjacent to Korea, has long been considered a place where residents' consciousness is awake."
