It is predicted that one of the four elderly households living alone in 2050 will be vulnerable to cognitive abilities such as Alzheimer's.

The Korea Institute of Taxation and Finance predicts that 1.19 million people will be suspected of having dementia among elderly households aged 65 or older by 2050.

This is 25% of the elderly households per person according to the Statistics Korea's future household estimates.

Among elderly single-person households, the size of economic activity participation is expected to rise steadily, from 219,000 in 2020 to 634,000 in 2050.

Among them, 80,000 people are suspected of having dementia and 170,000 people with mild cognitive impairment, according to the Korea Institute for Taxation and Finance.
