"Until the day you're repatriated with a smile"...Transmission of AI footage of North Korean detainees

The Ministry of Unification promotes artificial intelligence videos wishing for the repatriation of South Koreans detained in North Korea ahead of the UN's regular review of human rights in North Korea through electronic boards outside Gwanghwamun.

The promotional video is a virtual reenactment of North Korea's past video, which was released as a press conference for missionaries Kim Jung-wook, Kim Kook-ki, and Choi Chun-gil, by applying AI technology to them after they were repatriated.

The video showed the three detainees smiling and the words "We will never forget until the day we can see a bright smile."

North Korea has released all foreign detainees, including the United States and Canadians, but has held six South Koreans, including missionary Kim, for as long as 11 years.
