The election to select the 47th president of the United States is going smoothly.

Voting began at 6 a.m. on the 5th in Virginia and New York, 6:30 a.m. in North Carolina, a rival state, and 7 a.m. in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Polls will end at 6 p.m. on the 5th, the earliest in the Republican strong regions of Indiana and Kentucky, and will begin counting an hour later with the end of the vote from seven states, including Georgia, a rival state.

Voters in the election are estimated to be 244 million, with 162 million expected to go to the polls this year if turnout hit the level of 2020 when turnout stood at 66.6%.

The results of the election are expected to be known only when the winning and losing states are outlined, but it is expected that it will take a considerable amount of time if an ultra-close match is developed in the seven major contenders, as in the poll.
