At this time, the main vote for the U.S. presidential election is taking place across the U.S., including seven competing states.

In our time, the vote count is expected to begin at 8 a.m., but it will take some time to confirm the election.

I'll connect to Washington to find out the current voting status.

Yes, it's Washington.

Every state across the U.S. is holding a presidential main vote. Where is correspondent Hong?

[Reporter]
I'm at a polling place at the Capper Community Center in Washington, DC.

Voting has been underway since 7 a.m., and outside the polling place, there were promotional materials from candidates such as the House and Senate as well as presidential candidates.

It's heading towards 3 p.m. local time, and many voters are still lining up to cast their precious votes even though it's not a holiday.

We've heard from voters who came to the polls.

[Daniel Lipperger Schuller/Washington DC Voter: I think choosing between the two presidential candidates in this election is important because it determines a lot about the direction our country is going forward.]

[Caitlin Gleispy/ Washington DC Voter: I'm very anxious every minute. I dream of a better future where people feel safer and speak out through voting.]

As of this time, voting is underway in 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.

Voting will be completed at 6 p.m. local time in Indiana and Kentucky, where the main vote ends first, and in seven competing states, it will be held until 10 p.m. Eastern time.

The final deadline for the U.S. presidential vote is Alaska, which ends at 3 p.m. our time.

Does the counting start right away? When will the votes be counted?

[Reporter]
The counting of votes will begin at 8 a.m. in the eastern part of the country, including Indiana.

An hour later, at 9 a.m., the vote will begin with the end of the vote in Georgia, a state in the competition.

Other contending states, North Carolina and Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona and Nevada, will start counting after the polls close.

The timing of the vote count's confirmation is unknown.

During the 2020 presidential election, it took four days to confirm the results.

This year, the early voting craze has led to more than 83 million people voting by mail or face-to-face early voting as of today, leading to predictions that it will take a significant amount of time to confirm the final winner.

There are 244 million U.S. presidential voters this year.

More than 67 million people have applied for mail-in ballots, and Pennsylvania, a key rival state, is expected to take up to 13 days as it opens and checks sealed mail-in ballots starting today, the day of the election.

Vice President Harris and former President Trump are also interested in today's move.

[Reporter]
Two days before the U.S. presidential election, Harris completed early voting by mail at a black church in Detroit, Michigan.

Vice President Harris, who held her final campaign rally last night on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Pennsylvania, the biggest battleground and movie "Rocky," is holding a task force meeting in her office in Washington, DC.

"American people are tired of division," he told Pennsylvania's Pittsburgh Radio earlier today, stressing that "leadership is not a rebuke, it's about trying to find common ground."

The plan is to watch the vote-counting broadcast at Howard University, his alma mater in the Washington, DC area, when the vote count begins.

As in 2016, former President Trump, who chose the Michigan Grand Rappies as his last campaign stop in the contested state, was verbally abused by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, until the end.

Pelosi repeated the abuse in the shape of her mouth, saying it was evil and disgusting, and it is also interesting to see if former President Trump's abuse will affect today's vote as it spreads through social media.

After returning to his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, at 6 a.m., former President Trump will go to the Palm Beach polling station to vote.

Lastly, it is of keen interest to see who will be elected in the first match. What's the atmosphere like in the local area?

[Reporter]
On the day of the presidential election, both broadcasting and newspaper media, including CNN and Fox News, are unable to predict their chances of winning the election prematurely.

The British Economist analyzed the model for predicting the outcome of the U.S. presidential election, with Vice President Harris and former President Trump's last expected win rate of 50-50 percent.

However, the economist's analysis is that Vice President Harris' rise was observed at the end of the presidential election starting on October 30.

Compared to a week ago, Vice President Harris' expected win rate increased by 5 percentage points, and former President Trump lost 5 percentage points.

Expectations for securing the electors for the two candidates are 270 for Vice President Harris, two ahead of Trump's 268, but they are still close.
