Over the past two and a half years, the amount of shares given to executives and employees by large domestic companies for performance compensation has reached nearly 4.5 trillion won.
This is the result of a survey by CEO Score of the Corporate Data Research Institute of 167 companies with stock-based compensation details from 2022 to June this year among the top 500 companies by market capitalization.
Hyundai Motor Co., the largest share-based compensation, was found to have given nearly 500 billion won in stock compensation to executives and employees.
Hyundai Motor pays shares in accordance with wage negotiations every year, and in the first half of 2023, it paid shares as special incentives.
Naver followed with 332.1 billion won, followed by Celltrion, Kia, and SK Hynix.
