With the ruling and opposition parties' consultative body set to be launched on the 11th to discuss how to resolve the medical gap, Rep. Kim Sung-won, a three-term lawmaker in the Seoul metropolitan area, has been appointed as the representative of the ruling party to coordinate between the government, the opposition party and the medical community.
A ruling party official told YTN, and People's Power Party Chairman Han Dong-hoon recently offered Kim the leadership of the ruling party, conveying his opinion that the ruling party should start first regardless of whether the opposition party participates or not, and Kim also accepted it.
The members of the ruling party who will participate in the consultative body with lawmaker Kim are three-term lawmaker Lee Man-hee and first-term lawmaker Han Ji-ah, and there is a possibility of increasing the number of additional personnel as needed in the future.
Representative Kim, whose constituency includes Dongducheon, Yangju, and Yeoncheon in Gyeonggi Province, has served three terms since entering the 20th National Assembly, and served as the deputy floor leader and the head of the Yeouido Institute, a party think tank.
Earlier, at the Supreme Council meeting on the 4th, Han expressed his intention to launch a consultative body first, even if the opposition party is absent, along with some medical circles.
