A national institute diagnosed that domestic demand is still slow to recover despite the increase in private consumption in the third quarter of this year.

The Korea Development Institute said in its "November issue of economic trends" that the Korean economy has maintained a good export trend recently, but the sluggish construction investment continues to limit the recovery of domestic demand.

KDI's judgment of slowing and sluggish domestic demand has continued for a year since December last year.

In particular, it evaluated that despite the increase in facility investment, product consumption and construction investment continue to be sluggish.

The KDI analyzed that the Korean economy is constrained by the contraction of the construction industry while the high growth in exports is adjusted for base effects.
