The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Unit arrested 231 people on charges of committing 20 billion won of lease fraud using the so-called "tin can villa" whose lease deposit exceeds the sale price.
The police arrested 10 people, including A, in his 40s, on charges of fraud and violating the Certified Brokerage Act, and handed them over to the prosecution, and booked and sent 221 people, including 16 licensed real estate agents and landlords, without detention.
Mr. A and others are accused of stealing 132 villas from Seoul and Incheon from November 2021 to September the following year by receiving a deposit of 22.5 billion won from the tenant after buying 132 villas in a "capitalless cap speculation" manner.
It was investigated that they committed crimes by dividing roles into brokers in charge of consulting, recruitment books for pants, and name lenders, centered on A.
The police are continuing their investigation, believing that there will be more crimes, given the seized real estate contract-related documents.
