In order to reduce the incidence of malaria patients, Gyeonggi Province has decided to allocate next year's project budget to three cities, Goyang, Paju, and Gimpo, which are areas where there are many cases.

This year, 244 malaria patients occurred in three cities, Goyang, Paju, and Gimpo, accounting for 67% of the total 364 patients in Gyeonggi Province.

In response, the province decided to focus on allocating 2.961 billion won, or 61% of next year's malaria budget, to three regions.

The province has also decided to strengthen quarantine by increasing the number of personnel in charge of intensive management in areas with multiple cases from 5 to 10 next year.

Malaria occurring in Korea is Samil fever malaria transmitted by female spotted-winged mosquitoes infected with Samil fever protozoa, and patients are concentrated in the metropolitan area, mainly in northwestern Gyeonggi Province.
