[Reporter]
Yes, there is no additional news of discovery among the 12 people who are still missing.

Of the 15 rescued, two Koreans were taken to the hospital, but they were found to have died.

The accident happened around 4:30 a.m. today.

The Coast Guard reported that a fishing boat was sinking in the sea about 24 kilometers northwest of Biyangdo Island in Jeju. The ship in the

accident was a 129-ton Busan-registered Venus, with a large number of people on board as it was the main line of the fleet.

At that time, there were a total of 27 people, 16 Koreans and 11 Indonesians. The

accident ship departed from Seogwipo Port in Jeju at around noon yesterday (7th) and has been operating.

Today, it was found that the ship sank when it flipped over while trying to move the catch to the carrier for the first time and then the second time.

At the time of the accident, there were two people in the cabin, and 25 others were on the deck to move the catch, but they were reportedly not wearing life vests.

What is the status of the search for missing persons at the moment?

[Reporter]
Yes, it's already been 12 hours since the accident.

As the sea water temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius, it is urgent.

The Korea Coast Guard is operating the Central Rescue Headquarters to conduct on-site search and rescue operations.

From around noon, two divers from the Coast Guard conducted an underwater search to find the missing person. The search operation is not easy because the depth of the

accident site is deep enough to reach 87 meters.

For this reason, the Coast Guard and others are also considering how to salvage the ship itself.

In addition, the Jeju Coast Guard sent 18 ships and 5 aircraft to the search, and the Navy also sent 4 ships and 2 aircraft to the scene.

While local governments also operated the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters and began searching for missing people and supporting their families, President Yoon Suk Yeol also issued an emergency order to do his best to search and rescue lives by mobilizing all available resources.
