The Gwangju Police Station in Gyeonggi Province is investigating a 50-year-old police officer A from the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency who is suspected of causing an accident while driving while drinking alcohol.

The police officer A is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol at around 11:50 p.m. on the 9th when he changed lanes in a tunnel in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, and hit the left side of the vehicle in the next lane.

At the time of the accident, it was confirmed that the blood alcohol level of Superintendent A was at the level of license suspension.

The police have released Superintendent A from his position today (11th) and plan to proceed with disciplinary proceedings as soon as they finish investigating the traffic accident.
