Police have launched an investigation after the body of a damaged kitten was found in an open area in Incheon.
According to the Gyeyang Police Station in Incheon on the 13th, 112 reports were received at around 4:30 p.m. the previous day in a vacant lot in Parkchon-dong, Gyeyang-gu.
The reporter stated, "There was no cat yesterday, but as I passed around the vacant lot today, the body of the cat with its head cut was abandoned."
The police will check the closed-circuit (CC) TV near the vacant lot and investigate the details of the incident.
Police will check whether a person intentionally killed the kitten or if the body was damaged by another animal.
Earlier in July, four cats were found dead at an apartment complex in Namdong-gu, sparking controversy. One of the four had its body damaged.
At that time, the Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Quarantine Headquarters said after an autopsy of the body, "It was confirmed that the cat had panleukopenia."
