A man in his 40s who committed another sexual assault five months after serving eight years in prison for sexual crimes was also sentenced to heavy punishment in the second trial.

The Seoul High Court sentenced A, in his 40s, to 15 years in prison today (13th), as in the first trial, on charges of breaking into a house under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.

In addition, a 20-year electronic device attachment order for location tracking was maintained.

The court explained that the sentence of the first trial was not deemed unfair because it was too heavy or light beyond reasonable discretion.

Earlier, A asked for a delay in sentencing, saying he wanted to try to reach an agreement with the victim, but the court did not accept it.

In January, A was arrested and charged with chasing a woman he had never seen before in Songpa-gu, Seoul, threatening with a weapon, sexually assaulting and running away.

In 2016, he was found to have committed the crime five months after he was released from prison after being sentenced to eight years in prison on charges of breaking into a residence.
