In 2011, a dedicated exhibition space for Oegyujanggak Uigwe, which returned from France for the first time in 145 years, was set up at the National Museum of Korea.
A total of 297 Uigwe books will be displayed in rotation in the dedicated space on the second floor of the museum's permanent exhibition room, and a digital Uigwe where you can turn over the books and see the Uigwe yourself.
In addition, the exhibition room is similar to the actual Oegyujanggak, and the space is arranged so that it feels like an important royal record.
Uigwe is a book that records important events such as weddings and funerals of the Joseon royal family and was kept in Oegyujanggak in Ganghwa Island under the direction of King Jeongjo, but was looted by France during Byeonginyangyo in 1866.
