HD Hyundai Vice Chairman Chung Ki-sun, the third generation of "Bum Hyundai Family," has been promoted to senior vice president in a year.
Chung Ki-sun, born in 1982, is the grandson of the late Hyundai Group Honorary Chairman Chung Ju-yung and the eldest son of the Asan Foundation Chairman Chung Mong-joon.
The promotion is expected to speed up HD Hyundai's owner management led by Chairman Kwon Oh-gap, a professional manager.
HD Hyundai said senior vice chairman Chung is expected to take care of the group's core tasks and lead the search for future growth engines.
Cho Seok, president of HD Hyundai Electric, was promoted to vice chairman, and Kim Jae-eul, vice president of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' shipbuilding business, was appointed as CEO of HD Hyundai Samho.
