'Violation of the Election Act' Confirms invalidity of the election of Geoje Mayor Park Jong-woo

Geoje Mayor Park Jong-woo, who was handed over to trial on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act, has been sentenced to invalidity of election.

The Supreme Court today (14th) confirmed the original ruling, which sentenced Mayor Park to four months in prison and two years of probation.

Mayor Park, a member of the People's Power, has been on trial in 2021 on charges of providing 13 million won to camp employees four times in exchange for SNS promotion.

Later, the first trial convicted only the part that provided 3 million won in cash and sentenced him to six months in prison and two years of probation, but the second trial convicted only the part that provided 2 million won and reduced the sentence to four months in prison and two years of probation.
