Rep. Heo Jong-sik of the Democratic Party of Korea, who was accused of publishing false information during the April 10 general election, denied the charges completely in his first trial.
At the first trial preparation date held at the Incheon District Court, Heo's lawyer claimed that he had posted on the Internet blog, but that it was not a false fact because he had never received an envelope of money.
When Huh was put on trial for violating the party law for his involvement in the "Democratic National Convention Money Envelope Incident" during the last general election, he posted an Internet blog denying the allegation, saying he had never seen a money envelope.
Since then, the People's Power has filed a complaint with the prosecution, claiming that Representative Heo announced false facts for the purpose of being elected.
In August, the Seoul Central District Court sentenced Heo to three months in prison, one year of probation, and a fine of 3 million won for receiving money envelopes.
