The number of new Supreme Court candidates to succeed Supreme Court Justice Kim Sang-hwan, who will retire on December 27, has been narrowed down to four.
The Supreme Court Candidate Recommendation Committee held a meeting today (14th) and recommended four of the 37 Supreme Court nominees to Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae as candidates for recommendation.
The list of recommended candidates included senior judges Ma Yong-ju, Shim Dam and Hong Dong-ki at the Seoul High Court, and lawyer Cho Han-chang, who belongs to Dole, a law firm.
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Cho will collect opinions from inside and outside the court by the 19th, select a final candidate, and propose an appointment to the president of Yoon Suk Yeol.
