Yurikobi Mikasanomiya, the oldest member of the Japanese royal family, died at 6:32 a.m. on the way to the age of 101.

Yurikobi was hospitalized and treated for cerebral infarction and pneumonia in March, but his condition worsened and he died today at a hospital in Tokyo.The late

married King Mikasanomiya, the fourth son of Emperor Taisho and the youngest brother of Emperor Hirohito, in 1941.

King Mikasanomiya, who died in 2016, criticized Japan's war of aggression in the past, saying that the Japanese military's assault is still very shameful and heartbreaking.

After World War II, Yurikobi served as the president of the social welfare corporation Mother and Child Care Association, supporting those engaged in childbirth and childcare.

The death of Yurikobi has reduced the number of members of the Japanese royal family to 16.
