Six crackdowns have led to 11 years of prostitution...Fourteen arrested.

Despite several crackdowns, a business that had been brokering prostitution at the same place for 11 years was caught by the police and demolished.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's custom crime investigation team cracked down on four prostitution establishments in Gwangjin-gu, arrested 14 people, including the owner A, employees, and customers, and arrested one of them.

They are accused of illegally engaging in prostitution by attaching massage company signs or operating without a name after registering as a false business as a beauty material wholesale and retail business.

In particular, A's business has been under police crackdown at least six times under the same name, but it turns out that it has been operating for more than 11 years with only the owner changed every time.

The police also booked the owner of the building on charges of demolishing A's business and condoning prostitution at two crackdown businesses.

According to a police investigation, 83% of 227 illegal businesses in Seoul continue to operate after the crackdown.

The police explained that some businesses are being demolished with the consent of the owner, but cooperation between the Office of Education and local governments is necessary for the forced demolition.

In addition to Gwangjin-gu, the police plan to push for the closure of 37 chronic illegal businesses that have been cracked down on more than three times in Seoul.
