Train fire at Giheung Station on Suinbundang Line...Once a non-stop pass

A fire broke out at Giheung Station on the Suinbundang Line in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, at around 7:30 a.m. today (18th) and was extinguished in 20 minutes.

No one was injured, but all 600 passengers got off in an emergency and suffered inconvenience in moving to other transportation such as buses.

All trains on the Suinbundang Line passed through Giheung Station without stopping for an hour and 20 minutes until the fire and on-site inspection were completed.

The informant told YTN that it suddenly smelled acrid with a 'pop' sound.

Korail explained that the electricity supply above the vehicle caused flames, and that it plans to send the accident vehicle to the base to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
