The world's education community is expected to draw attention to Gyeonggi-do Province next month. The Gyeonggi Office of Education will hold a "UNESCO International Forum" to promote Korean education to the world, and attention is being paid to whether it will be an opportunity to open the door to the "K-Edu" and Hallyu craze in the field of education. We will take Lim Tae-hee, the superintendent of Gyeonggi-do Province, to hear the details firsthand. Welcome.

[Im Taehee]
Hello.

[Anchor]
It will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of next month. An international forum for the future of UNESCO education will be held in Gyeonggi-do, and I think many people are unfamiliar with the forum itself. What kind of forum is it?

[Im Taehee]
As you know, UNESCO is an international organization on education and culture under the United Nations. So, I've been doing a lot of activities so far, but how education should be conducted in a rapidly changing global environment in the future. I raised such a discourse because I thought there should be a change in education. However, what made me pay attention to education in Gyeonggi-do is that I took office as the superintendent of education and am trying to transform education in Gyeonggi-do. Therefore, the contents of the change were once introduced by UNESCO in Korea, and this is not much different from the direction of global educational transformation that UNESCO intends to do in the future.

That's why we decided to introduce Gyeonggi-do education to leaders who are interested in education from all over the world, and to discuss the future direction of education, which is why it is held in Gyeonggi-do.

[Anchor]
To some extent, you may feel proud that such an event will be held in Gyeonggi-do, but I heard that you will introduce Gyeonggi-do education to the world. What part will you focus on and talk about there?

[Im Taehee]
The big direction UNESCO is interested in should continue to secure the right to education. So, because the gap widens, such an issue was raised, and then the school cannot do everything, and the role of the school is important, but education should be conducted through solidarity and cooperation. And knowing the importance of the global environment, he suggested that efforts to preserve the global environment should be made in schools as well. In our Gyeonggi-do education, don't students have the right to be educated on what they want in order for schools to have customized education for students?

So, school education is changing so that students can conduct customized education by creating an AI classroom learning platform. So the teacher is not a knowledge transferor who unilaterally injects knowledge, but now it changes into a kind of educational companion character that discusses and cooperates with students so that they can provide customized education according to their characteristics. That's the first one, and the second one is how good education capacity the community and the community have because schools can't do everything?

We have both human and material resources. So, combining such human and physical education capabilities with schools expands students' education. Therefore, the characteristic of Gyeonggi-do education is that it expands the educational field of students by using that part as the field of public education, not private education, so that students can access various education, and finally, online schools are established. There may be students who are alienated from education because of poor local conditions or because they cannot go to school due to some circumstances.

We established an online school with this system so that those students are not alienated from education. We plan to operate it in an open manner so that it can be accessed from anywhere in the world later. As a result, not only global environmental education but also global environmental education. So I'm thinking of faithfully explaining the field where UNESCO's education is being practiced in Gyeonggi-do.

And they also show the scene themselves. I heard you're going to visit schools and educational institutions, so what part do you want to show?

[Im Taehee]
As I'm telling you, it's called AI learning program, high learning. Through it, you will show the field how much interest students have in their learning can take care of them individually. The second is a shared school, a kind of educational system outside of the school with the community. You'll see that, and thirdly, how much we strive to be carbon neutral and to reduce carbon in global environmental education. We are also creating a system in which we can give students mileage through the digital system and reward them for their efforts later on. I'm supposed to see the site, but I've designated 10 places now, but I can't get unlimited people, so they all closed very early within a few minutes of opening.

You were popular. Gyeonggi-do education will be introduced to the world through this forum, so how will it affect our education?

[Im Taehee]
Gyeonggi-do is a microcosm-like area that includes all cases in Korea. In addition, the size of education in Gyeonggi-do is close to 30%. So I think that when Gyeonggi-do changes, education in Korea changes. So this time, these cases of Gyeonggi-do Province are known to the world through UNESCO, and the world pays attention to them, so all superintendents from other cities and provinces in Korea also attend. So in the end, I think Gyeonggi-do education can contribute to cooperating and ensuring that all our students in Korea can receive education in a better direction. I have that expectation.

[Anchor]
I see. It will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of next month. We heard more about the future international forum of UNESCO education in Gyeonggi-do with Gyeonggi-do Superintendent Lim Tae-hee. Thank you.
