U.N. Volunteer Corps Holds Inauguration Ceremony for 7th President Yoo Jun-sang

The Korea United Nations Volunteer Corps held the inauguration ceremony of new president Yoo Jun-sang, who became the 7th president today (19th).

In his inaugural speech, President Yoo emphasized that he will do his best to help a beautiful sharing culture take root in many parts of the world beyond the Republic of Korea.

Yoo, who became the new president, served as a four-term lawmaker until the 14th, starting with the 11th National Assembly, and is currently serving as a special professor at Korea University and the head of the Korea Information Technology Research Institute.

The U.N. Volunteer Corps of Korea was established under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1971 by the resolution of the U.N. General Assembly and has been working with the government and local governments to provide welfare, social leader education, and disaster support.
