How did the accident happen?

It was around 3:20 p.m. today that related authorities, including fire and police, received the accident.

Three people were found suffocated in an enclosed space.

Three suffocated people were found during a vehicle test in a complex environmental chamber at the electrification business department and were reported to the police.

In other words, an accident occurred while testing vehicle performance and durability by putting the car in an enclosed space and creating various environmental conditions such as cold and heat.

It is believed that an accident occurred because exhaust emissions were not discharged to the outside while conducting a vehicle driving test in this space.

The police secured a factory official's statement that they were suffocated when they checked around 3 p.m. because three people had to leave the test at 12:50 p.m.

All three were moved to the hospital, but they are said to have died.

It is known that all three are researchers, one in his 40s and one in his 30s belong to Hyundai Motor and one in his 20s belong to a partner company.

Currently, police are investigating the details of the accident by deploying a criminal task force.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor is also investigating violations of the Serious Accident Punishment Act, along with an order to suspend work for the work.

Hyundai Motor said it will do its best to deal with the accident and offer words of consolation to the bereaved family, while actively identifying the cause of the accident and taking measures.
