The school and the examinee fought in court over the effectiveness of Yonsei University's natural essay test.

Today (19th), the Seoul Western District Court held an appeal hearing date for the suspension of Yonsei University's essay examination.

At the trial, Yonsei University asked the court to dismiss the application for an injunction to suspend the validity of the essay test, saying that students who are waiting for the announcement of successful candidates after faithfully taking the test without cheating could be victims of good faith.

He also said that if the retest is conducted, problems such as who takes precedence among those who passed the first or retest could arise if the original lawsuit ruled that the essay test could not be considered invalid.

They argued that carrying over the number of recruits on time is also a violation of the rights of students who only prepare essay writing and cannot be an alternative.

In response, the test takers countered that the rights of 260 preliminary successful applicants cannot take precedence over the rights of more than 10,000 people who took the test with their fairness violated.

Yonsei University also claimed that it should retake the test before the scheduled date of the successful candidate's announcement, saying it is dragging its feet by filing an objection to the provisional citation.

As the court is scheduled to close the hearing on Yonsei University's objection by 12 p.m. tomorrow (20th), it is expected to decide whether to cite it as early as tomorrow (20th) afternoon.
