A Swedish minister has become a hot topic after it was revealed that he was suffering greatly from complaining of banana phobia.

According to the French daily Liberacion on the 19th (local time), Swedish Gender Equality Minister Paulina Brandberry's aides requested in an email to the Swedish parliament speaker's office in September that "there should be no banana traces in the conference hall attended by the minister."

Minister Brandberry explained that he has a strong allergy to bananas. The minister himself confessed on social media (SNS) in 2020 that he was suffering from the weirdest phobia in the world.

Accordingly, it is explained that organizers are paying special attention to "banana control" at every event attended by Minister Brandberry.

National Assembly Speaker Andreas Norlen informed the minister that there would be no bananas in the conference hall and confirmed, "Is it enough to remove the bananas on the morning of the visit?" A government agency that was supposed to have a luncheon with the minister said, "We mobilized a security team to safely organize the luncheon."

Some say Minister Brandberry's "banana phobia" and his requirements are excessive, but colleagues say they "emphasize."

"Like ordinary people, politicians can experience fear, phobia, and anxiety," Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson said on X (X, former Twitter), adding, "If this does not affect work, is it a matter that needs to be publicly illuminated?"

Prime Minister Wolf Christtersson also said at a press conference on the 14th, "It is embarrassing that a hard-working minister is known and ridiculed only for phobia."
