A survey found that teachers' perceptions of advantages and work obstacles to teaching have changed significantly over the past 20 years.
According to a survey of 6,60 elementary, middle, and high school teachers conducted by the Korea Federation of Teachers' Associations in June, 42.2% cited the strength of teaching as "stability."
In the same survey 20 years ago, "professionalism" topped the list with 42.4% and "stability" was at the bottom with 9.3%.
In addition, 50.1% of students and parents pointed out the uncooperative attitude of students and parents as the number one obstacle to work this year, which was also 10.3% in the survey 20 years ago, which was the lowest-ranking answer.
The Federation of Teachers' Association evaluated that the infringement of teaching authority and the absence of professionalism in teaching professions have drastically changed teachers' perceptions over the past 20 years, calling for a system to improve treatment so that teachers can revive their commitment and enthusiasm.
