KOSPI closed slightly higher...Samsung Electronics falls

The KOSPI also rose only slightly due to the decline of Samsung Electronics.

Although some related stocks rose ahead of the Nvidia earnings announcement, Samsung Electronics, the top market cap, fell nearly 1.8%, limiting the overall index's gains.

The KOSDAQ closed 0.47% lower at 682.91.

In the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won-dollar exchange rate was trading at 1,390.9 won, the same as yesterday, as of 3:30 p.m.
