This month, Korea's exports continued to rise until yesterday (20th).
The Korea Customs Service said exports reached $35.6 billion from the 1st to the 20th of this month, up 5.8% from the same period last year.
Imports fell 1% to $34.8 billion from a year ago, bringing the trade balance to a surplus of $800 million.
By major export items, semiconductor exports rose 42.5% and ships rose 77.1%, but passenger cars fell 17.7% and exports of petroleum products and wireless communication devices fell more than 10% each.
As a result, Korea's exports until the end of this month are expected to continue to increase for 14 consecutive months following last month.
