Rep. Yoon Gun-young of the Democratic Party of Korea said that former President Moon Jae In's spouse, Kim Jung-sook, decided not to respond to the prosecution's summons of a reference in connection with the investigation into the alleged preferential hiring of her former son-in-law.
Representative Yoon, who served as the head of the presidential office for state affairs in the Moon Jae In government, said in a statement, explaining that he also conveyed his intention to not attend the Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office today (22nd).
He added that the reference person is not legally obligated to attend, and that the ongoing prosecution investigation is groundless and unreasonable political oppression.
