The Seoul Southern District Court today (22nd) rejected an injunction request to suspend the appointment of KBS presidential candidate Park Jang-beom.

The court said that the president's appointment of seven ruling party-leaning KBS directors after the recommendation of the so-called "two-person system" Korea Communications Commission is difficult to see as a clear violation of the current law.

In addition, accordingly, it was difficult to conclude that the resolution of the board of directors in this case was invalid.

On the 23rd of last month, KBS' board of directors held an extraordinary board meeting and decided to recommend Park Jang-beom, then anchor of KBS News 9, as the 27th KBS presidential candidate.

In response, four KBS opposition-recommended directors refused to vote, saying there was a procedural problem, and filed a request for an injunction to suspend the validity of the recommendation of the appointment and a injunction to suspend the execution of Park's duties with the court.

Opposition-leaning board members expressed regret over the court's decision to dismiss today and insisted that the appointment of Park's presidential candidate should be suspended until the truth of the presidential office's alleged pre-appointment of the president is revealed.
