126.7 billion won for King Charles III's coronation...44 per cent of the Queen's funeral expenses.

It was found that 72 million pounds, about 126.7 billion won, was spent on the coronation of King Charles III of England in May last year.

British media, including the BBC and The Times, cited the government's annual financial report and reported that the Ministry of Culture, Media and Sport spent £50.3 million and the Ministry of Home Affairs £21.7 million, respectively.

That's 44% of the £162m cost of the funeral for Queen Elizabeth II, the mother of King Charles III, in September 2022.

The coronation at Westminster Abbey on May 6, 2022, was attended by world leaders as guests and a celebratory concert was held at Windsor Castle.

However, the coronation was smaller than Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953, and more than 2,300 people were invited to Charles III's coronation and 8,000 to the queen's coronation.
