Hezbollah launched a counterattack with more than 250 rockets after Israel attacked a house in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, killing nearly 30 people.

The U.S.-brokered cease-fire reportedly leaves Israel with final approval, with Israel continuing airstrikes throughout Lebanon on the sidelines of progress in negotiations.

The building that was hit by the missile will collapse.

Israel, which hit a Beirut city house without warning the day before, causing major casualties, continued its second day of airstrikes, saying they were targeting Hezbollah facilities.

Bombings continued in southern and eastern Lebanon, killing dozens of people, including children.

[Suhail Hajj Hassan / Mayor of Air Raid-affected areas: There were about 20 people in the house, but they couldn't even afford to evacuate anywhere else because they barely made a living.]

Hezbollah launched hundreds of rockets at Tel Aviv, Israel's central city, and other cities.

The air defense system was in operation, but the building was destroyed and about 10 people were injured.

Hezbollah claims it attacked Israeli naval bases and other sites with missiles and destroyed six tanks in ground warfare.

European Union foreign affairs and security chief Borrell, who visited Lebanon amid fierce fighting, said both Israel and Hezbollah should press for an acceptance of the cease-fire.

[Hosef Borrell / EU Foreign Affairs and Security Representative: The cease-fire issued by the United States has been concluded. Only final approval from the Israeli government remains.]

The cease-fire includes Hezbollah's withdrawal from Lebanon's southern border with Israel and the management of the buffer zone by Lebanese and UN forces.

The European Union has decided to provide 200 million euros and 290 billion won in our money to strengthen the Lebanese army.

In the meantime, the Lebanese army base was bombed by Israeli forces, resulting in nearly 20 casualties.
